Happy New Year ~ A Roundup of My Favorite Everyday Recipes

by Cathy on January 1, 2012

 Happy New Year!

I always look forward to versions of the year’s favorite and most popular recipes that appear on many of the blogs I follow.  It’s a good reminder of the posts I have bookmarked and it gives me a second chance to see some great recipes that I missed the first time around.  As much as I love all the food prepared during the holidays I have to admit I do look forward to returning to my list of favorite every day meals that I prepare on a regular basis.  So instead of 2011′s most popular picks I have listed my family favorites that I’ve posted over the past several years.  These are tried and true recipes that never fail to please.  There are several more favorite picks on my sidebar, and I hope you will read down the list and try a recipe or two.  I need a little break from the kitchen and most of these recipes are quick and easy to put together.  Bon Appetit!

Roasted Tomato Basil Soup with Grilled Cheese Croutons

Chicken Salad Sandwich on Grilled Pita Bread

Bacon and Egg on Toast

Egg Foo Yong

Hot Chicken Salad

Colcannon

Chicken Vesuvio

Smoked Salmon and Asparagus Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Magyar Gulyas  (Hungarian Goulash)

Tomatillo Chicken Stew

Cathy, I just made a list of resolutions of a different kind. It is to make every one of these delicious and fabulous-looking recipes of yours over the next year. starting with the egg foo yong, one of my favorite things to order in from a Chinese restaurant, and it is so hard to find a good one. Happy, healthy 2012 to you ! (This post is going into my archives, o-o-o- real Hungarian goulash, oh my!) xo

That bacon and egg on toast is one of my favorites. I’ve made it many times and the vinaigrette you suggested for it is perfect for the dish. I look forward to many more of your recipes in 2012. Happy New Year.
