by Cathy on July 31, 2012

A Classic BLT

Vine ripened tomatoes are finally available at my FARMERS’ MARKET and the way I enjoy them most is in a big, juicy, luscious

Bacon Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich

homemade crusty bread, mayo, thick cut smoky applewood bacon, sliced vine-ripened tomato and crispy lettuce

Oh Mama, this is where it’s at!

There isn’t a better sandwich! We eat our fill during the summer because only summer tomatoes are worthy of the sandwich!

Hi Monique – I remember sitting at the Woolworth’s counter with my great-grandmother. It was her favorite place to have lunch. Wow…that’s very strange about your tomatoes.

Oh yeah, a BLT is the way to go with fresh summer tomatoes. And homemade bread makes it doubly good!
We’ve been enjoying tomatoes since the 1st of July, and it is heavenly.

I can’t wait for my own tomatoes to ripen! My husband and I make a toasted tomato sandwich with Best Foods mayo and salt and pepper and then we stand over the sink to eat them! I’ll have to come say hello at the Beaverton Farmer’s Market.. Cheers!
